Are the Silver Elves "Tolkien Elves"?

arethinnSince I sometimes see it said on Tumblr, albeit with the good intent to defend fictionkin, that the Elf Queen's Daughters and the Silver Elves (generally cited as the earliest documentable roots of the current Otherkin community) were/are "Tolkien fictionkin"... a post from their blog yesterday: How Much Have We Silver Elves Been Influenced by Tolkien and the Silmarillion?
