I've made some looonnng overdue (like, years, up to 7 years in some spots) updates to my lists of recommended otherkin-related fiction, nonfiction, and not-recommended reading on my website.
I just wanted to say thank you for updating your website and keeping it going since 2000! I ended up on the archived Otherkin.net through your website and enjoyed looking through that older version of the wiki. I added it to my bookmarks for archived sites. I'm sure I will keep returning to your site for references and information. Do you mind if I share it as a recommended resource?
Definitely bookmarking! I've been DYING to get some books by The Silver Elves for AGES! (They're the ones who gave me the name Leändreyn, which I've used as a surname since 2014) and there's a bunch that I'd never heard of until seeing your list :-D
And, if you don't mind a couple of book/series recs merely because I'm curious as to what you would think of them:
Urban Fantasy -- The Otherworld series by Yasmine Galenorn (also known as The Sisters of the Moon series in some cases) and some of her other Urban Fantasy. I can't speak for her Indigo Court series yet or any of her other UF series 'cause I've been more focused on the OW series;
Non-Fiction -- "The Magic of Shapeshifting" by Rosalyn Greene (it's been ages since I last got to read this; I had to leave behind my copy in one of my moves. Honestly, this one might end up in your "Not recommended" list. I read it as a "baby therian" and it had, at least, some interesting theories as I recall)
"Totem Magic: Dance of the Shapeshifter" by Yasmine Galenorn (yeah, she's also one of my favorite Pagan authors, but of her Pagan non-fiction, I've only gotten to read "Embracing the Moon" but I'd be curious as to your thoughts about "Totem Magic")
Anyway, no worries if you're not particularly interested in checking out any of those. If you ever end up reading them, great! If not, no biggie or pressure whatsoever.
I have "The Magic of Shapeshifting" and actually I bring it to the Kin-Meet at PantheaCon each year. I should give it another looking-over because clearly I think it has some value if I do that, but maybe it would be "recommended with reservations".
Probably you know that the Silver Elves have a ga-freakin-zillion books by now? But I guess I have been most interested in the history ones (the Letters of both the EQD and SE).
I've heard of the Otherworld series and it's on the list of things to get around to Real Soon Now, Honest.
TMOS is definitely a fascinating read! Even with reservations, I miss my copy 😭
I’d be fascinated as hell to read all the Letters collections and I’m also wanting to read their books about Elven magick as well as their poetry and story collections.
Oooh, I do so look forward to hearing your thoughts about the OW series! It makes me so sad that it’s almost over! 😭😭
Thank You
