Mythic Picnic?

Since for various reasons it has proved difficult to set up a traditional gather (as was my initial goal when re-starting the SF Bay Otherkin Meetup back around 2010-2011), I wonder if there might be any interest in doing a one-day event where we book a group picnic site at some state/county park...?
I've long had it in my head that no one would be interested in investing the travel time for 1-day event, and I do think it probably would not be reasonable to expect people to come from even southern California never mind other states, but OTOH the cost is much more manageable when divided out among some number of people (see, for example, https://parks.smcgov.org/fees-charges#grouppicnic or https://www.ebparks.org/activities/picnics/default.htm#3 or https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/AboutUs/Pages/GroupPicnicSitesFees.aspx) never mind the issues about having camping equipment, disabilities making camping difficult, etc.
Privacy may still also be a bit of a concern, but my thought is we could maybe do an area set off for a couple of more serious workshops in the afternoon, and away from that have your general silly social space; generally BYO lunch/dinner, but maybe an option to throw in $10 or something to buy into a simple mealplan.
