Hmmm, I don't think any more by percent than anywhere else. (So, fewer in absolute numbers than e.g. LJ.) There's been a bit of an influx from tumblr in the past week or two, but in my 2+ years on DW, most of the otherkin I've found here have been people I already knew from LJ. (A few now are people I know from tumblr and not LJ.) It's been a while since I checked the "otherkin" interest, but the last time I did a lot of the results were for journals for one member of a multiple system, or of course some therians - both types of people I have no quarrel with, but I would not personally call it "a high otherkin population" in the sense of "oh yay, look, tons of people I want to friend!"
and seems to be more active than LJ
*boggle* What? LJ has a much bigger userbase and is much more active overall. Difficulty getting people to move to DW from LJ is one of the most moaned-about things on DW. Every additional person helps, of course! But it's not already a jumpin' joint. (I think part of the problem is only a certain breed is interested in this kind of journaling platform anymore; Facebook - a place which rather frightens me - has sucked many people away.)

perhaps friendlier than Tumblr...
Can't argue with this, though!
Anyway, welcome!
