What if, "heaven" is beyond our known universe and these other places are within it? The universe is vast, countless galaxies with even more stars and who knows what planets.
What if, and this is just a thought, these other places, elvenhomes and such, are on other planets and the veil is simply the vastness of space..?
Thus anything from 'heaven" could have a harder time getting back than something from another galaxy within our universe.
Not saying I believe this at all, just food for thought.
