Are the Silver Elves "Tolkien Elves"?

Since I sometimes see it said on Tumblr, albeit with the good intent to defend fictionkin, that the Elf Queen's Daughters and the Silver Elves (generally cited as the earliest documentable roots of the current Otherkin community) were/are "Tolkien fictionkin"... a post from their blog yesterday: How Much Have We Silver Elves Been Influenced by Tolkien and the Silmarillion?

I mean at one level, the whole concept of the Other- part of Otherkin is going to reflect at least something of the most readily available fictional equivalents, even if it's in the sense of 'this is explicitly NOT what we are' if there are such examples. The Quendi are not the Sidhe or the Alfar, to be sure, but they've largely shaped the modern views of Elves as such.

Fiction mirrors and shapes aspects of identities in a more 'conventional' sense, too.
