Is anyone interested in a 'friending meme' here?

I checked with the moderator here, who gave permission for me to post asking if folks here would like to more actively friend each other. I do not know what is helpful: maybe those interested could post a reply to this comment, or individual posts describing their interests and what they are looking for, or something else that works for them.

I am always happy to have new friends, especially those interested in 'kin stuff, and I miss the sheer volume and level of activity that used to be on lj. Please let us know if you are interested in participating, and if you have ideas to make this helpful. Thanks!

I think it's been sort of slow on here, so I am happy when anyone wants to be more sociable in dw--glad you are interested! Who knows, maybe we can even get some action going in this community more??

I'd be interested, but then there's only 51 "living" members (2 are deleted journals), so it's almost feasible just to go through the membership list and look at everyone's journals... heh.

Sure, we could cruise them, but then I feel much more reserve about actually commenting or interacting, if there isn't some agreement beforehand of us being 'friends' or whatever the jargon is now. I am still confused as to what the difference between subscribe and whatever else (access?) is, since one seems more like fanclub/stalking and the other seems more like actual voluntary interaction. I'm hoping to cultivate a few more friends on here--

"Subscribe" just means you can read someone's public posts without being forced to reciprocally give them access to any of your locked posts. You can choose to, of course, if you wish, but you don't have to, which is the case on LiveJournal.

Oh, I wasn't sure if "subscribe" was some attempt to read the people's private stuff, as opposed to just sort of watching their public output on some regular basis. I would still want to be some sort of acquainted with folks who read what I read regularly, as opposed to not even knowing--

Sure, why don't interested folks make a new post talking about themselves and interests etc.? It'll keep the community more active, and it won't get swallowed up in this one post the way replies might--
